Mission & Vision
Rooted Counseling and Wellness exists for people to experience their life in ways that are deeply meaningful and fulfilling.
We believe that humans have a right to safety, wholeness, and belonging. Together, we restore a sense of self, which in turn empowers all of us to move beyond survival and trauma, giving us access to enjoyment, presence, and the ability to thrive.

Specialized Therapists & Quality Treatment
All of our clinicians have received specialized trainings beyond their required license criteria. Rooted continues to provide extensive training and mentorship so we can provide the highest quality of services and care for our clients.

We know there are many facets to you as a human being. Here at Rooted we look at, explore, and understand these aspects and parts of you, as we heal. This is why we take an intentional holistic approach to therapy, ensuring we see and support your mind, body, and spirit.
More Than Talk Therapy: It's an Experience
Through our training we layer and provide specialized care using evidence-based techniques so you get the most out of your therapy and healing programs. This is about more than talk therapy, this is about the way we combine modalities to provide helpful, and needed mental health care. Some modalities that we provide experienced based include: EMDR, Experiential Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Lifespan Integration, Expressive Art Therapy, Therapeutic Yoga, and Somatic Experiencing.
Wellness Practices for Integration
We provide a wide variety of community experiences and groups to help aid you in your healing. From therapeutic yoga, to collaborating with other providers, to walk & talk, grief support groups, and other specific groups you will find there's more than traditional mental health services here at Rooted.

Our team of therapists and clinicians is committed to you and your healing.
Safety is a prerequisite for healing and growth of any kind. Without safety in all three of these elements your mind, body, and soul you cannot access a connected, present, and fulfilled life.
Our commitment is to provide an environment where people can be themselves, and speak their truth without fear of criticism and judgement. This level of safety provides access for people to be rooted in their true self everywhere in the world, not just in our office.
We work in partnership during therapy, equally committed to your healing process. You are the expert in your body and your experiences. Our therapists bring their expertise and knowledge of the human condition to heal and live a fulfilled life.
Together, we work through the therapeutic process to integrate the tools and learnings beyond your sessions. This may mean that we work with other wellness professionals and your support system, based on your goals and healing journey.
All healing begins with a willingness to be open to explore and discover yourself, your experiences, your feelings, your needs, your preferences and values, essentially who you are.
There is power in knowing oneself, and through that awareness, people can gain clarity on how they want and choose to navigate the world. This brings less conflict and more intention into our day-to-day life.
Life is not about being perfect or having control, it is about the ability to recognize how our experiences provide a path to healing through self-compassion.
Compassion for self and others is a daily practice that requires openness, consideration, empathy, and vulnerability. Compassion diminishes shame and unnecessary inner conflict. Compassion gives us access to being rooted in our wholeness, empowering us to move forward in the face of the uncertainties of life without fear or shame.
Healing deep wounds starts by connecting more deeply with yourself as the source of inner knowledge. This then opens the door for resolving insecurity and finding a sense of belonging with yourself and others.
The pathway to healing includes inner listening, self-compassion, building inner trust, and resilience. As we heal, it increases our ability to have confidence, speak, and live our truth. As we increase our security and feeling safe with ourselves, this deepens our relationships with those around us.
Ultimately, as we nurture ourselves, it leads to better relationships and more peace and ease in our mind, body, and soul. When we know we belong, we stop searching for validation from others to prove our worth. We know it, we feel it, and it is so. Our needs are respected and valued.
We are in the driver’s seat of our lives. Living empowered is recognizing that it is about our capacity to experience and enjoy aliveness.
When we are rooted in ourselves, we recognize that our feelings, needs, and perspectives have value. As we shift the focus from what we don’t want to creating space for what we do want, we empower ourselves. It’s appreciating the journey and increasing our ability to make choices that influence the details of our lives.

HOW WE STARTED & WHO WE ARE
THE ROOTED COUNSELING & WELLNESS STORY
Welcome! We are Halie & Romina, the Co-Founders of Rooted Counseling and Rooted in Wellness. We met in 2016 while working in the Emergency Department as Crisis Workers and soon became friends. Walking similar paths, being in solo private practice, we were chatting one day over pad-thai, sharing our visions of our individual practices, and realized how our hopes and plans looked very similar. That is how Rooted Counseling & Wellness was born. We combined our dreams and opened our door in May 2021.
We wanted to focus on the overall health and wellness of the body, mind, and soul. As we went through a 10-month Clinical Yoga Instructor certification program in 2021, our belief in and commitment to using a holistic approach to treatment grew even more. We discussed multi-disciplinary techniques to help our clients that goes beyond psychotherapy and but includes nutrition, movement, breathwork, and bodywork to help our clients find wellness and wholeness. Rooted in Wellness, the sister company to Rooted Counseling, was launched in late 2022 and focuses on services outside of psychotherapy. At Rooted Counseling & Wellness we are committed to individualized and integrated solutions for healing. We believe that humans have a right to safety, wholeness, and belonging.
We love training new clinicians, networking and building relationships other professionals, and growing our roots. In addition to quality mental healthcare and holistic treatment, we wanted to provide a work environment for other clinicians that promotes therapist well-being and work/life balance. We know that mental health providers are needed, and the balance and importance of therapist self-care to continue serving our community.
We are committed to navigating what this looks like with our team, and with our clients. Everyone has the right to live beyond trauma and survival.
