ROOTED COUNSELING & WELLNESS

Holistic Trauma Healing Program

Our 16-week intensive trauma healing program is designed for women suffering from the symptoms of unresolved trauma, which severely impact how they experience everyday life.

Do the strategies that keep you safe keep you from living?

Do you find yourself constantly triggered, on guard, distrustful, self-critical, and disconnected?  Trauma occurs when an overwhelming event or chronic stressor shatters our sense of safety and security, leaving us feeling helpless and alone.  Trauma can get stuck in the body and have a lasting impact until we have the support to process and release those experiences.

Our program aims to help participants release trauma and reconnect with their true self through the use of evidence-based treatment modalities and mind-body approaches. This holistic approach offers additional options for healing the nervous system from the overwhelming effects of trauma.

What is Trauma?

“Trauma compromises our ability to engage with others by replacing patterns of connection with patterns of protection.”

Stephen Porges

Program participants will learn:

Nervous System Care

Processing & Mourning

Resilience & Reconnection

This program aims to help clients release trauma and reconnect with their true self through the use of evidence-based treatment modalities and mind-body approaches.

Program FAQs

At this time, our Holistic Trauma Healing Program is for cisgender women ages 18+ who have a history of trauma.  The curriculum chosen for this program is gender-specific and addresses the unique needs of female born/ female identifying individuals.  We hope to expand this program to a more gender diverse group in the future.

This program is recommended for women who have a long history of trauma and chronically feel in survival mode and struggle to function at home or at work.  Those who find themselves constantly on guard, overwhelmed, and exhausted.  Women who feel burdened by traumatic memories, relationship wounds, and are constantly scanning for danger.

This program is NOT a good fit for those in active addiction or currently in a domestic violence relationship.  The goal of this program is to help participants process and release trauma, which cannot be done when there is substance abuse or new relationship abuse happening during the course of the program.  For those with a history of self-harm or chronic suicidality, completion of a DBT program is required prior to beginning our program.

This program is IOP-ish.  While it is intensive and included 6 hours of group and 2 individual sessions per week, it falls under the 9 hour requirement for a formal IOP.  This model allows to to incorporate more Eastern practices with Western Evidence-Based trauma treatments.

The 2 individual therapy sessions and 1 group psychotherapy session per week can be billed through insurance.  The remained of the groups are trauma education or experiential groups.

This program is 16 weeks long.

The first 12 weeks includes: 2 individual and 6 hours of group per week

The last 4 weeks of the program help transition participants from an intensive program, to standard outpatient care.  This transition happens over the course of a month and includes 1-2 individual sessions and 2 hours of group per week.

At the end of the 16 weeks, some group participants may continue with aftercare, as needed.

A unique component of our program is that is is run as a closed cohort, meaning that participants start and end the program together.  The curriculum and group programming build each week making it disruptive to have participants joining and leaving the program at any time.  This cohort model also allows for greater group cohesion and support.

New cohorts begin in September and January.  Contact us today to be added to the waitlist for the next cohort.

Because of the cohort model of our program, we do ask that participants commit to the 16 weeks.

The fees for the supplemental aspects of the program are due prior to starting the program.  This financial investment encourages completion of the program and accountability for attendance as this impacts the group dynamic.

This program was designed to be cost effective and offer the highest quality trauma treatment without having to disrupt your life to go to a residential program.

For those who would like to use their insurance, the 2 individual session and 1 group psychotherapy session per week can be billed to your insurance. Our Foundation of Trauma Healing classes and experiential groups are essential to having success in the program, but are not covered by insurance.
